Our Program

Upon arrival at the marina, guests will be warmly welcomed and introduced to the captain and crew hosting the charter. Crew members will be kept to a minimum to help reduce social anxiety while still maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Each guest will receive a personalized overview of the day. We understand that every individual has different comfort levels and needs, so we will take time to discuss expectations and establish a comfortable starting point for participation.

Guests may choose to participate in a variety of onboard activities, including:

  • Taking the helm and assisting with steering

  • Handling lines during departure or docking

  • Assisting with navigation

  • Learning basic boating knowledge and skills

Participation is always optional and based entirely on each guest’s comfort level.

What we offer

We provide veterans with the opportunity to reconnect with family, friends, and themselves in a caring, supportive environment. Every charter is tailored specifically to the veteran and their needs, with a focus on creating a meaningful, positive, and memorable experience.

Based on comfort level, guests may be invited to participate in aspects of the charter such as:

  • Learning how to properly cast off or secure the vessel at the dock

  • Discussing weather conditions and boating safety

  • Understanding navigation routes and landmarks

  • Assisting with simple onboard responsibilities

The charter will travel through the scenic Thousand Islands Parkway, with opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of the area while learning about its history and significance.

Trips are typically approximately four hours, though timing can be adjusted to suit the comfort and preferences of guests.

Upon returning to the dock, we will conduct a brief debrief to ensure everyone feels comfortable, supported, and safe.

Depending on weather conditions and guest interest, optional activities may also be available on the grounds of Crysler Park Marina, including:

  • Kite flying

  • Visiting a nearby beach

  • Stand-up paddleboarding

  • Campfires

  • Other outdoor recreational activities
